Regenerative NOx removal

Onshore oil & gas facility

Onshore oil and gas sites make NOx in gas turbines and fired heaters. Krajete removes NOx with regenerative zeolite adsorbers at ambient temperature. No ammonia, no catalysts, no process water, no reagents. [NEEDS KRAJETE: operator, region, and what triggered the enquiry]

Where the NOx comes from

Gas turbines and fired heaters burn fuel hot, and hot combustion makes nitrogen oxides. Load varies, so the flue gas flow and the NOx in it move with it. [NEEDS KRAJETE: how many and which combustion sources were in scope]

The reagent chain

Selective catalytic reduction needs a reducing agent, ammonia or urea, and gas at roughly 250 to 450 °C. Delivering and storing that reagent is a standing cost at a remote site. [NEEDS KRAJETE: the site's stated reagent or logistics problem]

Space and limits

Plot space on an onshore site is tight. A new NOx step has to fit the space, the power and the utilities that are already there. [NEEDS KRAJETE: the permit limit that had to be met]

Ambient temperature, no reagent

Flue gas leaves a turbine or a heater hot. Adsorption here works at ambient temperature, so the gas is cooled first. Zeolites are minerals with very fine pores. The cooled gas passes through a bed of them and the NOx is held on the pore surface. Gentle heat later drives the NOx back off and the adsorbent is reused. No ammonia, no catalysts, no process water, no reagents.

Outlet level

Krajete's adsorbers reach the 1 ppm class in industrial service, and have shown 99.9% NOx capture in CO2 matrices. [NEEDS KRAJETE: the load range and gas conditions seen during the test]

Pilot hardware

Krajete's pilot envelope is 50 to 18,000 m3/h, containerised and slipstream-ready. [NEEDS KRAJETE: slipstream flow and where it was taken off] [NEEDS KRAJETE: footprint, power draw and utility connections used]

The NOx afterwards

On desorption the NOx comes off concentrated. It is recoverable as nitric-acid or fertiliser feedstock rather than destroyed. [NEEDS KRAJETE: whether an offtake route was studied]

Krajete delivers to pilot scale. Full scale is built by the client's engineering partner, with Krajete supplying the design basis, the media and the licence.
